Progressives' rating "stable," Radicals enjoy "slight rise"

According to the survey's results, if elections were held today, 50.5 percent of the respondents would vote for the Progressives.

The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), their junior partner in the government, would cross the election threshold with 10.5 percent of votes, as well as the Democratic Party (DS) with 6.1 and the New Democratic Party (NDS) with 5.6 percent of votes, the poll shows.

The Radicals are just under the election threshold with 4.3 percent of votes, which is the most surprising result in this survey, Faktor Plus director Vladimir Pejić said.

"The rise in the SRS rating is a result of increased media interest in the provisional release of their leader Vojislav Šešelj from the Hague, where he has been detained for the past eleven and a half years without a first-instance verdict being passed against him," Tanjug reported.

A slightly lower support for the Socialists is a result of inter-party bickering, and the situation is similar in DS and NDS, noted Pejić.

The poll was conducted from June 26 to July 2 and included 1,100 respondents, the Belgrade-based daily Informer reports.

In the early parliamentary election in Serbia held on March 16, 2014, a coalition gathered around the SNS won 48.35 percent of votes and the SPS-led coalition received 13.49 percent.

The parties gathered around the DS won 6.03 percent, the NDS-led coalition won the support of 5.7 percent of voters, while the SRS with 2.01 percent did not pass the election threshold.
