Dačić warned his party cannot criticize government

He revealed that during a recent government meeting, and after SPS official Branko Ružić criticized the government and Vučić for sacking police department chiefs, "and for conflicts with some ambassadors."

"I clearly told Dačić that I will not tolerate such behavior of his officials and that we cannot function like that as the ruling coalition... I told Dačić that he cannot sit on two chairs, and I'll let him decide - will he be a part of the ruling coalition or will he be in the opposition. It cannot be both," Vučić told the newspaper.

He added that the SNS did not make any move to deserve to be treated in this manner by some SPS officials.

"At the same meeting of the government I said that if the SPS continues to behave in this way toward the SNS when they have five times less support in the public, I can only imagine what they would be saying about us and all the things they would be doing to us if the SPS had five times greater support," Vučić continued, and added that to these remarks, "Dačić did not react and said nothing."

But Dačić did speak for Blic, to say that the position of the Socialists, when it came to participation in the government, was made unanimously - "and those who present different positions must bear personal responsibility."

"Anyone who is presenting a different opinion is presenting a personal statement that has nothing to do with the party. For their personal attitude they have to take personal responsibility. After all, that's why I will convene the congress of the SPS, because the Socialists must conduct one policy," said Dačić.

He confirmed that he and Vučić "talked about the statements of some SPS officials" but declined to disclose any details.

"What I had to say I said to him, to Vučić," Dačić remarked.

Branko Ružić was a guest on a B92 TV talk show on Sunday, June 22, which discussed the dismissals of high ranking police officials.
