Privatization in sport "inevitable" - minister

He made the comments in Sofia, during a meeting with Bulgarian Minister of Youth and Sport Mariana Georgieva, with whom he discussed Bulgaria's experiences in privatization in sport.

"It will happen, regardless of whether some want it or not. There is clear political will for a consolidation of the financial and economic systems to also take place in sport. We want a transparent, more just system, with a stronger role of the private sector. The goal of the process is that the clubs emerge healthier, that the state and the taxpayers' money be protected from irrational spending, and that individual responsibility and the way state property is managed become known," Udovičić stressed.

Over the next two days, Udovičić will also meet with his Romanian and Polish counterparts to discuss the two countries' experiences in privatizing the sport system.
