Poll: 55 percent of Serbians in favor of EU membership

A new Medium Gallup poll, showing that 55 pct of the Serbian population supports the country's membership in the EU, will be presented on Friday in Belgrade.

Poll: 55 percent of Serbians in favor of EU membership

According to the survey, 56 percent of citizens believe that membership will bring more investments, 54 percent expect better protection of the environment, and 50 percent the rule of law.

Two-thirds - 67 percent - believe that "agriculture is first on the list of sectors that should receive assistance from the EU."

The poll was conducted on a nationally representative sample of 1,239 respondents, and, according to announcements, also provides insight into the level of support for the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, as well the level of awareness of citizens on the volume of funds that the EU gives Serbia.
