DS leader warns about "atmosphere of lynch"

Dragan Đilas has reacted to incidents in Belgrade and Užice targeting the property of the party by saying that "an atmosphere to lynch the DS" had been created.

DS leader warns about "atmosphere of lynch"

Đilas, Democratic Party (DS) president, told the Beta news agency that he believed the attacks were "not an organized campaigns, but the work of individuals."

"However, the fact is that an atmosphere has been created where such things are normal. And the government and the ruling party that every day attack the Democratic Party and calls us offensive names are responsible for that atmosphere," said Đilas.

According to him, "the consequences will be even more grave unless this ends."

"I think it is high time that those who create such an atmosphere to come to their senses and to allow our voice to be heard. What they are causing in this country should be reduced, and that is an attempt to destroy the Democratic Party and lynch our people," said Đilas.

The incidents targeting the DS premises in Užice have been condemned by local offices of the SNS, SPS and DSS parties.
