"Serbs in Kosovo will be safe and will survive"

"I do not say this just to you in northern Kosovo, but also to the Serbs in Prilužje, Plemetina, Goraždevac, Hoča, from Gračanica to the Kosovo Morava River basin. Serbs will survive and remain safe in any place in Kosovo and Metohija," Vučić said.

Addressing a large number of citizens at his party's election rally in Leposavić, Vučić said that he "knows that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are concerned, that they do not care about rallies and political gatherings."

"Various things took place and will take place here. The arrest of our people after 12 or 15 years for alleged crimes, as if they had not known before whether something happened, and evidently it did not, proves that someone is afraid of the strength and unity of Serbs. Our response has to be courageous and wise," Vučić said.

The SNS leader noted that "it had not been easy during the talks in Brussels, that many difficult decisions had been delivered, but that he has always been aware how important it is to realize goals in a prudent way for our people," Tanjug reported.

"The result for our people is such that you can always say that Kosovo and Metohija is a part of Serbia, that Serbs live safely in Kosovo and Metohija, and that Serbia will ensure that there are jobs in Kosovo so that the Serbs here could live better every day," Vučić said.

Honorary citizen

Aleksandar Vučić on Thursday also received "the plaque of the honorary citizen of Leposavić," Tanjug reported.

This came due to "his contribution to the survival of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," Leposavić Mayor Dragan Jablanović said.

Noting that he was "very honoured to be able to deliver the recognition to Vučić," Jablanović said that he "holds the most credit for Serbia's integrity and the fact that Kosovo and Metohija would not be separated from the mother country."

“I deliver the key to the southern Serbian province with the coat of arms of Serbia to the first deputy prime minister of Serbia because only Vučić and his team can use the key to drive all enemies out of Serbia so that the country would remain integral,” Jablanović said.

Leposavić representatives adopted a decision to declare Vučić an honorary citizen f this town in 2013.

In Leposavić, Vučić was welcomed by mayors of four Serb municipalities from northern Kosovo. Upon his arrival, Vučić visited the Church of Saint Basil of Ostrog where the priests presented him with a cross, Tanjug said.
