He reiterated that he believes Serbia will complete negotiations and obtain membership in the European Union by 2020 , and added that in the next two years "special incentives" will apply for investors.

"We've managed to stabilize the economy, reduce unemployment and attract significant investors both from the West and the East, such as Mercedes, Bosch, Michelin and Etihad. We are working to create a better business environment, to amend the labor law, and it will attract more investors to the country," Vučić said.

Asked how he thought to implement reforms in Serbia, which like Ukraine faces a difficult economic situation and also has close ties with Russia and intends to go towards the EU, Vučić said:

"We opened negotiations with the EU, made significant progress, work hard and try to avoid any protests and unrest in the country. We need to reform the economy, we have done much to establish the rule of law, fight against corruption and crime, and that's the difference between us and the rest of the region. People believe in the government and in reforms. I think we will continue full force with reforms," Vučić said.

He added he hoped that Ukrainians would overcome "all the problems," pointing out that the situation there was "the reason why the government in Serbia is trying to meet all the objectives that it has set."
