SNS to form cabinet by May in case of victory

Asked whether the SNS would consider it a failure if they won less than 40 percent of the vote, Stefanović stated that the Progressives did not wish to discuss "percentages" when it came to the result they expected in the March 16 early elections.

Speaking about possible post-election coalitions, Stefanović said that "absolutely no one is guaranteed a place in the next government and no one should be trying to ingratiate themselves with the SNS."

Asked whether the SNS will need support of LDP leader Čedomir Jovanović for reforms, Stefanović said that "the citizens will decide who will be in the new government and personal animosities and vanity will not be the guiding idea when it is set up."

"However, nothing has been decided yet, and those who already see themselves in the future government are getting ahead of themselves," said he.

Asked about a possible coalition with the New Democratic Party, led by Boris Tadić, Stefanović said that "all these democratic parties look alike as they are the people conducting the same policy."

"Both Tadić and Đilas could provide some answers to the citizens of Serbia about what they were doing when they had absolute power," said Stefanović.

According to him, the SNS was "ready to talk with those parties that support the fight against corruption and serious reforms."

"We want to have a clear mandate so that we can also implement those reforms," said Stefanović, who also serves as speaker of the dissolved parliament.

He noted that he moved out of his office in the parliament building "because it is not right to conduct electoral activities from the office of the president of parliament, but from the party's premises."

Asked whether he would in the future move into the office of the mayor of Belgrade, Stefanović said he was "not thinking about positions," and that his party "wants to talk about a team of people who will lead Belgrade."
