Labor Law draft to be withdrawn from procedure

BELGRADE The labor bill, which was to be tabled to the Serbian government for adoption after a public debate, will be "withdrawn for amendments," Tanjug has reported. It was agreed that all contentious issues related to three key bills - on labor, bankruptcy and privatization - should be resolved through a social dialogue involving the government, trade unions and employers, the government's Press Office said in a statement. At a joint press conference in Belgrade following a meeting with RS President Milorad Dodik, Vucic said that the labor bill has not even entered the procedure, as it has not been tabled to the government after a public debate. Vucic said that he expects a new bill to be complete in a month's time through a dialogue with employers and trade unions, which, he noted, does not mean that all of their demands will be accepted. Vucic added that he wants an agreement that would be good for employers as well as stimulating for workers.
