DS official advocates "political agreement with SNS"

BELGRADE The Democrats (DS) are dealing with a false dilemma and a false topic of whether to be a political partner to the SNS, says DS Vice-President Miodrag Rakic. The only political bloc that can make this possible for him is DS. The issue in Serbia is a thorough and essential change and building of independent institutions, de-tabloidization of media, politicization that entered each pore of our society." “For instance, can the issue of Vojvodina’s Statute be solved without a dialogue with the SNS or without a dialogue with the DS? The question of Vojvodina is an essential issue of autonomy and must be solved through a political agreement if we want a stable and long-term solution. The DS must daily work on these issues, regardless of the fact if the SNS is ready at this moment to make some difficult political decisions for them. We have to insist on it, as we insisted on the EU topic in 1999. It was unpopular at the time and it appeared impossible.
