DjAKOVICA President of the interim body of the municipality of Djakovica in Kosovo Kosta Belosevic has said that Albanians on Monday stoned a bus carrying Serbs. The Serbs in question are internally displaced persons who come from Djakovica. Serbs come under attack on Christmas Eve They attempted to reach a local church and spend Orthodox Christmas Eve in their hometown, but Belosevic said the Albanians prevented them. This official told Tanjug that none of those who came under attack suffered injuries, but that their bus was damaged. Serb IDPs had arrived in front of the churchyard in Djakovica, where the Albanian protesters awaited, said Belosevic. After the incident, the Serbs turned back, accompanied by members of the Kosovo police, and headed toward the monastery of Decani. Earlier in the day, the Kosovo Interior Ministry banned Minister Aleksandar Vulin from traveling to Djakovica. He also intended to take part in Christmas Eve ceremonies there. Vulin will instead spend the day in Gracanica. Despite the ban to Vulin, hundreds of Albanians gathered to protest in Djakovica, blocking the road and preventing Serbs from going to church.
