BELGRADE Head of Serbia's team for the talks with the EU Tanja Miscevic expects the first intergovernmental conference with the EU to be held on December 20. Belgrade is trying to gather as much support as possible in the EU for the accession talks to start near the end of 2013, she told the daily newspaper Vecernje Novosti. First intergovernmental conference on Dec. 20 "A large number of countries is willing to help out so the first intergovernmental conference would indeed be held on December 20," she said after visits to Berlin and London. She will continue Serbia's diplomatic efforts on Tuesday, when she will visit France and later Italy with Minister Without Portfolio in charge of EU integration Branko Ruzic. When asked if Serbia would get the support of two key countries in the EU, Germany and the UK, for the talks to start on December 20, she responded that no one had spoken against that. Serbia does not need support from a particular country, but from all 28 EU members, she pointed out. Berlin and London have no special requirements when it comes to Kosovo, Miscevic added. "There are no special requirements, but a need to define clearly how things will develop from now on, neither the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina nor the talks with the EU would be threatened," Miscevic concluded.
