SOFIA Bulgaria's customs officers have seized 73.3 kilograms of heroin on the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing with Turkey. The drugs were found in a car with Bulgarian license plates traveling from Turkey to Bulgaria. More than 70 kilos of heroin seized in Bulgaria The driver, a Bulgarian national, has been placed under arrest. The heroin was divided into packages hidden in specially constructed "bunkers," located behind the vehicle's back seats. Analyses of the "powdery substance" revealed that it was heroin, BTA reported. The value of the seized narcotics is put at about 8.8 million Bulgarian levs ( EUR 4.4 million). The Bulgarian customs officials said this was the biggest amount of drugs they seized "from a single car" in the past five years.
