BELGRADE Aleksandar Vucic will join the Belgrade negotiating team for the next round of the dialogue with Pristina, Tanjug said in learned from diplomatic sources. Although Vucic's participation in the delegation headed by Prime Minister Ivica Dacic has not been officially confirmed yet, the EU sees this as a sign that the final agreement on the issues concerning electricity and telecommunications could be reached in this round of talks with Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, the news agency said. "Vucic to also take part in next round of talks" The dialogue in the cabinet of High EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton should begin on Sunday afternoon, after Ashton returns from an informal meeting of European defence ministers in Vilnius. Ashton's spokesperson Maja Kocijancic could not either confirm or deny the allegations about Vucic's attendance at the Brussels meeting. The sides in the dialogue decide on the delegation members and we have not received the official list of delegation members either from Belgrade or from Pristina, Kocijancic told reporters in the EU seat. A European official who wished to stay anonymous told Tanjug that the EU sees Vucic's participation in the talks as a sign that considerable progress could be reached in the issues of electricity and telecommunication which are still open after two years of the talks. The same source said that according to the plan agreed by Dacic and Thaci in Brussels in May, the issues concerning electricity and telecommunications should have been resolved in June. Kocijancic told reporters that in addition to these issues, a dominant topic on the agenda of the meeting would cover the preparation for local elections in Kosovo scheduled for November 3. She noted that it is important for the elections to be well-organised and for representatives of all communities to join them. The Serbian prime minister and deputy prime minister announced earlier that they would attend the Brussels meeting together. (File) Tanjug
