BELGRADE President Tomislav Nikolic received the credentials of newly appointed Lebanese Ambassador Toufic Jaber. Nikolic took the opportunity to thank the diplomat for his country taking a principled stand and not recognizing the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo. Nikolic receives new Lebanese ambassador's credentials “It is my deep conviction that the friendly relations between our two nations and the cooperation that has been there for many years will continue to improve in the period ahead of us,” the Serbian president said. Nikolic said that he hopes that the economic cooperation between Serbia and Lebanon will improve considering the opportunities and mutual interest that is undoubtedly there. “You can rest assured that our side will provide you with all the necessary assistance and support during Your Mission in our country, with the aim of improving and fostering the bilateral relations and friendship between the Serbian and Lebanese people,” Nikolic told the Lebanese ambassador. Jaber agreed that the two countries have good relations, pledging to do everything he can to further improve them. Lebanon and Serbia cooperate in many areas, and I will particularly focus my efforts on strengthening our economic ties and cooperation in tourism and culture, Jaber said. Jaber added that he is confident that the Serbian authorities alike want to push the already good bilateral relations even further. During the day, the Serbian president will also receive the credentials of the new ambassadors of Egypt, India, and Mongolia. (Tanjug) Tanjug
