Reshuffled government meets for first session

The first meeting of the Serbian government since the reshuffle was held on Tuesday, with the new ministers starting to take over their duties.

BELGRADE The first meeting of the Serbian government since the reshuffle was held on Tuesday, with the new ministers starting to take over their duties. The first meeting of the government, which has 18 ministries and 22 members since Monday, was completed without statements for reporters. A statement for the public was issued, Tanjug reported. Reshuffled government meets for first session "Important decisions related to EU integration were adopted and officials leaving Prime Minister Ivica Dacic's government were dismissed," said the news agency. According to the statement, the government decided to form a team to coordinate and lead the accession talks process through all the chapters and stages of the negotiations, and professor of the Belgrade Faculty of Political Science Tanja Miscevic was appointed as the head of the team. The state secretaries in the ministries where the ministers were replaced were dismissed, as well as head of the Security Information Agency Nebojsa Rodic, who became the new defence minister, and head of the EU integration office Milan Pajevic, who resigned in July after the United Regions of Serbia stepped out of the government coalition. The government decided that Minister Without Portfolio Aleksandar Vulin would be in charge of the Office for Kosovo, while Minister Without Portfolio Branko Ruzic was appointed as the head of the government Personnel Commission. According to the statement, the government decided to form a team to coordinate and lead the accession talks process through all the chapters and stages of the negotiations, and professor of the Belgrade Faculty of Political Science Tanja Miščević was appointed as the head of the team.
