The Kosovo Central Election Commission has decided that ballot papers for the forthcoming local elections will not have any symbols of Kosovo.

PRISTINA The Kosovo Central Election Commission has decided that ballot papers for the forthcoming local elections will not have any symbols of Kosovo. Instead, they will have the logo of the commission, it was announced on Monday. Ballot papers will not have symbols of Kosovo Tanjug reported that it learned this from the commission, and that the decision "on the new design of the ballot papers" was supported by a majority vote. The commission's members from the Self-Determination Movement voted against, as did those from the Hashim Thaci-allied Alliance for New Kosovo. The design of the ballot papers was on the agenda of last months' round of the Belgrade-Pristina talks in Brussels. The local elections are scheduled to be held on November 3. (Beta, file) Tanjug

Tanjug reported that it learned this from the commission, and that the decision "on the new design of the ballot papers" was supported by a majority vote.

The commission's members from the Self-Determination Movement voted against, as did those from the Hashim Thaci-allied Alliance for New Kosovo.

The design of the ballot papers was on the agenda of last months' round of the Belgrade-Priština talks in Brussels.

The local elections are scheduled to be held on November 3.
