The Montenegrin police have filed charges against 32 people suspected to have violated the law and order during the Pride Parade in Budva.

BUDVA The Montenegrin police have filed charges against 32 people suspected to have violated the law and order during the Pride Parade in Budva. The first Pride Parade that was held last month in the most popular Montenegrin seaside resort. As has been announced, in late October another gay parade should be held in Podgorica. Charges filed for Montenegro gay parade violence The Montenegrin police said they suspect that 28 persons violated public order and behaved in a rude and inconsiderate manner. Officers of the Security Center Budva, the Mina news agency reports, filed a request with the regional misdemeanor organ to initiate criminal proceedings against 32 persons, of whom the youngest is 16 years old and the oldest 61. The suspects are from Cetinje, Niksic, Berane, Podgorica, Rozaje, Budva, Bar and Plav. The police administration also noted that their officers on the day of the parade acted according to plan and that, by deploying the optimal number of police officers, they prevented major incidents and protected the participants in the event by suppressing aggressive persons and preventing attempted attacks. "Two persons received minor injuries from objects thrown from the crowd. During the parade there were no seriously wounded persons," the statement said. (Tanjug, file) Tanjug
