BELGRADE - Dijana Vukomanovic, the Vice President of the SPS, did not exclude the possibility to become the minister of education and science. When asked in an interview for Belgrade daily Danas whether she will assume the Head Office in this Ministry, Vukomanovic said that she has an experience of nearly 20 years of work in scientific and research institutes, and that she is not afraid of new challenges. Vukomanovic: I do not Run away from Challenges “I do not fear new challenges as I know that problems cannot be solved by an order but rather through a compromise,” she underlined. She pointed out that the status of education workers and scientists is not in accordance with their knowledge and work, which she knows very well as she has been one of them, but added that it is possible to win greater budget funds for science since this is an issue of human rights to knowledge and progress. Commenting on the statement by Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Zorana Mihajlovic that this is not the government of (Prime Minister) Ivica Dacic, but rather the government of Serbia, Vukomanovic said that she believes that all partners in the ruling coalition would agree with the statement of First Deputy Prime Minister and SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic that this government does not belong to Dacic or Vucic, but that it is the government of the Republic of Serbia. “We should not discuss something which is irrefutable, we have reached a consensus on detailed and efficient reshuffle of the government with a view to accelerated reconstruction of Serbia,” she said. “All of us together in the ruling coalition should show the citizens of Serbia that this is possible since they have been waiting for that for over two decades. I believe that this government will not gamble the chance. We have to succeed since a new chance for Serbia will not appear soon,” Vukomanovic said. Tanjug Tanjug
