BELGRADE Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated on Tuesday that the talks on the government reshuffle would continue on Thursday upon his return from Brussels. “An impression has been created that the government was not good and that it did not operate well. This is not true. The government has achieved a historic success and opened the talks with the EU but it will not end at this. We will continue the talks on Thursday, as soon as I return from Brussels,” Dacic said. PM: Continuation of reshuffle talks on Thursday Speaking during a joint news conference with visiting Bulgarian Parliament Speaker Mihailo Mikov, he underscored that the reshuffle is a hot topic but it is limited by deadlines set by the government and not by others. The SPS party leader recalled that the main board of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) would be held on Friday and that the Serbian parliament would stage a session later this month to appoint new ministers and have them sworn in. When asked whether the United Regions of Serbia (URS) would remain within the government, Dacic said that the talks in the next few days would cover personnel issues and the potential changes in the members of the coalition. He noted that competent bodies would openly discuss whether everyone can respond to the aim of the reshuffle embodied in the improvement of the work of the government. When it comes to the ministers from the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and their potential dismissal, Dacic said that there are no obstacles and added that it is important for all the parties which have ministers in the government to contribute to the reshuffle. The reshuffle will be successful if some changes are made for the better and I am sure they will be made, Dacic said. He also stated that he "announced a year ago that this will be the government with the best solutions which it was because it had the courage, political legitimacy and it took tangible steps without the fear of the drop in the political rating and openly told the citizens what the problems are." Talks on elections, community of municipalities Ivica Dacic said he will travel to Brussels for a new round of talks on Wednesday together with Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic, and the agenda includes the coming local elections in Kosovo and the formation of the community of Serb municipalities. "We will talk about the election, candidate lists, organization, status neutrality, the formation of the community of Serb municipalities, everything that is very important," Dacic told a news conference. The local election in Kosovo is set for November 3. Alongside Dacic and Vucic, the Serbian team traveling to Brussels includes Head of the Office for Kosovo Aleksandar Vulin, advisor to the Serbian president Marko Djuric and Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic. Working groups tasked with hashing out a deal on telecommunications will meet early on Wednesday before the high-level dialogue resumes, said Dacic. Tanjug
