PODGORICA The questioning of Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic in the inquiry into the Snimak ("Recording") Affair has been postponed indefinitely. Djukanovic was to give his statement to a committee set up to shed light on the affair. Questioning of Montenegrin PM postponed indefinitely The government of Montenegro, in the meantime, announced that Djjukanovic would today hold "a thematic press conference dedicated to the government's policy towards the KAP" - the Podgorica-based aluminum manufacturer. The affair is question is related to the disclosure of audio recordings made during meetings of Djukanovic's ruling DPS party bodies, where discussions were held on the use of state resources for partisan purposes - i.e., employment according to party affiliation, ahead of last year's parliamentary elections. Djukanovic said earlier that the affair was "the fruit of opposition manipulation to achieve better results in the elections." The committee has so far heard evidence from senior officials of the DPS, and they all denied the allegations that members of the party received favorable treatment in the employment process. The committee is headed by Koca Pavlovic of the opposition Democratic Front. According to the decision on its establishment, the work of the committee should be complete by the end of July. Deputy Chief State Prosecutor of Montenegro Veselin Vuckovic said earlier that "investigative procedure" had also been initiated in relation to the scandal, adding that the examination of the case "will not last forever."
