PRISTINA Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga appointed on Thursday Valdet Sadiku as Pristina's new liaison officer in Belgrade. Sadiku is "former Kosovo ambassador to Croatia," the foreign ministry of the government in Pristina said in a statement. Pristina appoints new liaison officer in Belgrade Lulzim Peci resigned from the position earlier this week after only two days in the job. Previously, Jahjaga "rendered the decision on Peci's appointment as liaison officers ineffective," the statement said, according to Tanjug. Peci had assumed his duties on Monday, as Dejan Pavicevic started his work in Pristina as Belgrade's liaison officers. Neither officials, who sit in EU offices in Belgrade and Pristina, have diplomatic status. The exchange of liaison officers was one of the results of the agreement reached during the Kosovo talks in Brussels. Tanjug

Priština appoints new liaison officer in Belgrade

Lulzim Peci resigned from the position earlier this week after only two days in the job.

Previously, Jahjaga "rendered the decision on Peci's appointment as liaison officers ineffective," the statement said, according to Tanjug.

Peci had assumed his duties on Monday, as Dejan Pavićević started his work in Priština as Belgrade's liaison officers.

Neither officials, who sit in EU offices in Belgrade and Priština, have diplomatic status.

The exchange of liaison officers was one of the results of the agreement reached during the Kosovo talks in Brussels.
