Ruling coalition leaders to discuss economy Tanjug reported that "after visiting Microsoft," the minister told journalists that severe spending cuts in the public sector are needed, and announced that a package of measures will be presented to the public early next week. Dinkic said the government will start preparing the budget balancing bill right after. According to him, the budget deficit must not exceed 4.6 percent of the GDP. However, no agreement was reached at that time. It was announced that the officials discussed ways to overcome the difficult economic situation, as well as the fiscal consolidation and measures that should enable for development, investments, and "better life". The government was then expected to adopt some concrete measures, but this did not take place. Instead, Dacic announced that the economy "wouldn't be a subject this week." The meeting between top officials that was held on Sunday agreed that consultations should be held with the Fiscal Council, the National Council for Economic Recovery, and the Social-Economic Council.
