BELGRADE President Tomislav Nikolic has appointed Rade Bulatovic as Serbia's new ambassador to Ukraine, it has been published in the Official Gazette. The former head of the Security-Information Agency (BIA) returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in November 2012. He previously served there in the early 1990s. Ex-BIA chief appointed as new ambassador to Ukraine From 2000 until 2003, Bulatovic was Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica's national security advisor. After the murder of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic in March 2003, he was detained under suspicion that he had ties with the organizers of the assassination. This suspicion was never proved, so Bulatovic was released after being held in custody for three months. In March 2004, he was appointed as BIA director. The agency is the heir of the former State Security Service (DB). Bulatovic resigned in July 2008, a day after the cabinet of Mirko Cvetkovic was formed. President Nikolic also appointed Vladimir Curgus as Serbia's new ambassador to Bulgaria. At the same time, Zoran Popovic has been recalled from Romania and Gordana Vidovic from Argentina. Cedomir Radojkovic is no longer Serbia's top diplomatic envoy in the Netherlands, while Feodor Starcevic has been recalled from his post of Serbia's ambassador to the UN in New York. Ex-BIA chief appointed as new ambassador to Ukraine

From 2000 until 2003, Bulatović was Yugoslav President Vojislav Koštunica's national security advisor. After the murder of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić in March 2003, he was detained under suspicion that he had ties with the organizers of the assassination.

This suspicion was never proved, so Bulatović was released after being held in custody for three months.

In March 2004, he was appointed as BIA director. The agency is the heir of the former State Security Service (DB).

Bulatović resigned in July 2008, a day after the cabinet of Mirko Cvetković was formed.

President Nikolić also appointed Vladimir Ćurgus as Serbia's new ambassador to Bulgaria.

At the same time, Zoran Popović has been recalled from Romania and Gordana Vidović from Argentina.
