The talks between teams of Belgrade and Pristina on telecommunications and energy ended in Brussels without an agreement after more than four hours.

BRUSSELS The talks between teams of Belgrade and Pristina on telecommunications and energy ended in Brussels without an agreement after more than four hours. Well-informed sources told Tanjug that certain progress was made in convergence of two sides' stands on the issues. Meeting of technical teams ends without agreement The Serbian team was headed by Dejan Pavicevic and included Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic and Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic, while the Pristina team was headed by Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri, and the host of the meeting was Director for the Western Balkans in the European Commission Pierre Mirel. After the meeting, Pavicevic said that the talks had been constructive and that they would represent an encouragement to reach an agreement on the highest political level, Beta has reported. He added that the goal of the technical talks was to secure electric power supply and the work of the telecommunications network in Serb municipalities in Kosovo. The talks on telecommunications and energy issues in Kosovo were formerly a part of the technical dialogue but they brought about no result. The talks resumed four days before the meeting between Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and his Kosovo counterpart Hashim Thaci. The meeting was scheduled by High EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and it will cover the implementation of the agreement on the constitution and the powers for the community of Serb municipalities which was initialed in Brussels on April 19. The Serbian team was headed by Dejan Pavićević and included Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajić and Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlović, while the Priština team was headed by Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri, and the host of the meeting was Director for the Western Balkans in the European Commission Pierre Mirel.

After the meeting, Pavićević said that the talks had been constructive and that they would represent an encouragement to reach an agreement on the highest political level, Beta has reported.

He added that the goal of the technical talks was to secure electric power supply and the work of the telecommunications network in Serb municipalities in Kosovo.
