BELGRADE Pristina is trying to interpret the Brussels agreement in a way that is taking us further away from the implementation, Marko Djuric has stated. The head of Belgrade’s team for the implementation of the Brussels agreement added that “our team will not allow the agreement to be stultified”. "Belgrade won’t allow Pristina to stultify agreement” “What we certainly will not allow is to stultify the agreement a make it detrimental to interests of the Serbian people and Serbia through various interpretations and a bad plan based on them,” Djuric told daily Blic. He said that Serbia had not accepted the agreement in order to trick the other side and that it could not allow itself to be tricked, stressing that the agreement was not great but that it was good enough for the Serbian people and Serbia in the given circumstances. Djuric noted that the Serbian side “had a very constructive approach and was intent on staying in Brussels as long as it took until the agreement was reached. “It seems that the Pristina delegation had approached the talks less ambitiously and without a wish to back down from some rigid stances that are not in accordance with the text and spirit of the previously accepted agreement. Serbia believes that the continuation of the talks is the only way to reach a solution and we hope that representatives of Pristina will soon return to the negotiating table,” he was quoted as saying. Djuric said that each country strived to achieve what it considered its national goals and interests. He said that it was the case with Germany, noting that some of Serbia’s interests did not coincide with Germany’s interests. “There are no hard feelings or room for emotions. Germany is a large and powerful state of Europe we strive to join and it is in position to set certain conditions. On the other hand, Serbia is a small and proud state and it will therefore always be in position to respond positively to some conditions and negatively to others,” he explained.
