SPS supports initialing of Brussels agreement

The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) Presidency Sunday unanimously supported the initialing of a Belgrade-Priština agreement, SPS leader and PM Ivica Dačić says.

BELGRADE The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) Presidency Sunday unanimously supported the initialing of a Belgrade-Pristina agreement, SPS leader and PM Ivica Dacic says. “Other important topics are yet to be on the agenda, such as the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), our religious and cultural sights, return of displaced persons from Kosovo and Metohija and the issue of property, both private and that of the Republic of Serbia,” he said after the Presidency session. SPS supports initialing of Brussels agreement He added that energy, telecommunications and many other important issues would also be discussed.Dacic stressed that the dialogue had been held in “unbelievably difficult conditions” and under “huge pressure”. SPS leader Dacic, high-ranking officials Zarko Obradovic, Petar Skundric, Dusan Bajatovic, Milutin Mrkonjic, Slavica-Djukic Dejanovic, Zvonko Stevic attended the session among others. Obradovic told Tanjug earlier that the Presidency would support Dacic’s actions and efforts. “He showed excellent wisdom and responsibility on behalf of the Serbian government and as a head of the negotiating team bearing in mind the present situation and found the best possible solution together with everybody else that protects interests of Serbs in Kosovo and Serbia’s interest,” he explained. According to him, the community of Serb municipalities will get certain powers, their safety is guaranteed, Kosovo’s independence has not been recognized and Serbia has an open EU pathway. The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Main Board session is also underway and the Progressives are discussing the agreement initialed in Friday. (Tanjug) Tanjug
