BRUSSELS B92 has learned that the Serbian team got a different offer in Brussels on Wednesday that includes a regional police commander and regional police chiefs. This is exactly what the Serbian negotiating team insisted on in the previous rounds of the dialogue. "Brussels makes improved offer to Belgrade" Consultations of Belgrade and Pristina teams are currently underway in Brussels ahead of a trilateral meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton. Member of the Serbian negotiating team Aleksandar Vulin told Tanjug that the negotiating team was right not to accept the proposal for northern Kosovo at the last round of the talks and that it now expected a better offer. “I can say with certainty that a decision to reject the proposal was completely right,” he said ahead of the trilateral meeting. Vulin added that it was clear after the meeting between the Serbian team and Ashton that a significantly more favorable offer than the one offered earlier this month could be expected today. “We are yet to see if this will be enough to reach an agreement,” Vulin stressed. Commenting on Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci’s statement that Pristina would not change its position that the community of Serb municipalities should not have executive and legislative powers, he said: “He will have to tell us that.” Vulin noted that such statements did not contribute to the dialogue’s success.
