BELGRADE The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) is asking all political factors to make a unique political decision on Kosovo, says SNS deputy leader Nebojsa Stefanovic. The parliament speaker told a press conference that the SNS supported all state officials who negotiated with Pristina, especially its leader and First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic and expressed belief that the best possible decision would be made. “All parties should voice their opinion about Kosovo” “What was happening in Brussels obviously were not real negotiations, those were difficult alternatives for the Serbian side. The SNS supports all state representatives who make decisions, especially Vucic and we as an MP group and the party will stand behind the decisions that will be made. We believe he (Vucic) will be able to make a decision that will be the best for our citizens,” Stefanovic pointed out. All SNS MPs attended the press conference and reporters were not allowed to ask questions. Stefanovic expressed hope that “all political factors” would show responsibility because “this is not a moment to score cheap political points”. “Neither Vucic nor the SNS have created this crisis and they did not lead to this but we took responsibility in a difficult moment. We are ready to do everything to find a way out and to make sure that the reached solution will guarantee a better future to the citizens,” he explained. The SNS official called on all parties to show they were responsible and not to use the Brussels negotiations for “political quarrels”. “This is a moment when Serbia needs to stop and think together and made a decision that will guarantee some sort of stability for the society and the state,” Stefanovic noted. He said that rejection of offered “bad solutions” was almost the same as their acceptance. The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and the Social Democratic Party of Serbia (SDPS) released statements soon after Stefanovic’s press conference. SPS official Aleksandar Antic said it was necessary to give full support to the top state officials in the attempt to find the best possible solutions for Serbia and Serbian people. SDPS leader Rasim Ljajic said that the government and parliament should discuss the decisions on Kosovo because it was a basis of the democratic procedure.
