BELGRADE Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) whip Veroljub Arsic says April 2 was not a "D-Day" in the dialogue with Pristina but that it will be in a week. He stressed that the Serbian parliament should hold a debate and voice its opinion about the issue. “Parliament should hold debate on dialogue with Pristina“ Arsic told Belgrade-based Pink TV that April 2 was not the D-Day and that “the maneuvering space has been narrowed down” but that he had always been an optimist. He stressed that offered “take it or leave it” solutions had never brought anything good, including the present situation with Kosovo. The SNS official believes that “we can improve the situation that looks to us a little more tragic than it really is a little with certain diplomatic activities”. When asked if parliament would hold a debate on the dialogue with Pristina, Arsic said that the “problem is that we do not have a single document parliament could debate”. Stressing that the eighth round of the dialogue had been difficult, he said that MPs should debate it, at least so citizens could hear what really had happened in Brussels. “Decisions are not made only by the president and the government but by the Serbian parliament as well and MPs should have the final say,” the SNS whip stressed. He said that Serbia needed unity when it came to the Kosovo issue and that there was no reason to think about early elections. (Beta, file) Tanjug
