“EU talks date not likely without deal with Priština”
Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkić has stated that chances of reaching a compromise in the dialogue with Priština are slim.

BELGRADE Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic has stated that chances of reaching a compromise in the dialogue with Pristina are slim. He added that he did not believe that Serbia would be granted a date for the beginning of the EU accession talks without an agreement. “EU talks date not likely without deal with Pristina” “We will see what EU member states will say but we think that the European Commission (EC) will not formulate a positive recommendation to grant Serbia a date for the start of the EU accession talks in June due to the lack of the agreement with Pristina,” he told online edition of daily Vecernje novosti. After he had returned from Brussels, where he took part in the negotiations as a member of the Serbian delegation, Mrkic said that there was still a chance to reach a compromise in the Belgrade-Pristina but that it was slim. “There is still a possibility to reach a compromise even though reasons for an optimistic option are pretty weak,” the foreign minister said. Mrkic stressed that Serbia was not giving up on its strategy. “The strategy remains the same – we are not giving up on the EU integration or on our Kosovo and Metohija,” he concluded.
