BELGRADE Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic announced on Wednesday after his meeting with Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller that he would visit Russia on April 10 and 11. Dacic at the same time stressed that cooperation and the highest degree of understanding in the two countries' relations was the path to signing a strategic partnership agreement. Prime Minister Dacic to travel to Russia on April 10 Russia is Serbia's most important foreign political partner, and the deals with Gazprom are of vital importance, he told a news conference after the signing two agreements on Russian gas export to Serbia. "These are great investments and deals that could improve the general relations between the two nations," he said, adding that Serbia had so far had annual contracts with Gazprom, while the latest one was valid until 2020. "The conditions in this contract are among the best preferential conditions in the world," he underscored. He commented on earlier contracts with Russia, pointing out the one that allowed for EUR 2 billion of investments in NIS, adding that EUR 3 billion of investments could be expected in the future. There are plans for cooperation between gas centrals, stable deliveries of gas to large companies, like Azotara and Petrohemija in Pancevo, and the possibility of building more underground storage facilities, like the one in Banatski Dvor, Dacic stated. An investment of EUR 1.7 billion to construct the South Stream pipeline will be realized next year and completed by 2016, he said. The South Stream leg towards the Serb Republic (RS) and the possibility of involvement of Serbian equipment and companies are very important to Serbia, Dacic noted. "We are happy with the way our cooperation works and I hope there will be results for both nations," he concluded. Dacic confers with Gazprom's Alexei Miller in Belgrade on Wednesday (Tanjug) Tanjug
