BELGRADE Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic says that Serbia needs to be loyal to political ideas of assassinated Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic. At a special session of the LDP Main Board dedicated to the tenth anniversary of Djindjic’s murder on Sunday, Jovanovic said that ten years after his death, Serbia is a “devastated society with lack of ideas and plans for modernization”. “Serbia needs to be loyal to Djindjic’s ideas“ “People with visions change the society, not those with the highest ratings. We must not be a generation of mute bystanders and failed factors in the building of modern Serbia,” he pointed out. The LDP leader noted that a “small victory is the fact that President Tomislav Nikolic and PM Ivica Dacic quote Djindjic’s words”. “They are doing this because they have used up the arsenal of lies and illusions and they have nowhere left to go,” he stressed. The LDP will in the next two weeks organize a series of manifestations marking the tenth anniversary of the prime minister’s assassination. The party has filed to the Serbian parliament a draft resolution that would obligate parliament to support efforts aimed at determining political background of Djindjic’s murder and insist that no individuals or groups could be above the law.
