BELGRADE Serbian Police Director Milorad Veljovic has said that more details about a plan to sabotage Prime Minister Ivica Dacic’s plane will be known next week. Veljovic, however, did not specify how far the investigation had gone. “Details on plane sabotage to be released next week” Serbian government’s Air Service Director Aneta Bulatovic said the service had taken extra measures to ensure the safety of the aircraft based on the information about a possible sabotage. “All employees servicing the planes have undergone security checks and there has so far been no reason to suspect anyone,” she noted. “Only authorized personnel and inspectors of the Civil Aviation Directorate monitoring the work of the air service have access to the government aircraft,” Bulatovic explained. The Security Information Agency (BIA) recently warned the PM that "heads of certain criminal gangs are intending to cause a failure on the government airplane". Although the government airplane often malfunctions, which resulted in cancelled or delayed flights several times, the government is not considering buying new aircraft because of the difficult economic situation, daily Blic has reported, adding that a new aircraft would cost at least EUR 30mn, which is a huge amount for Serbia's budget.
