ISTANBUL Serbia has defined its position on Kosovo in its platform and it cannot abandon it, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic says. He added that he would inform Kosovo President Atifeta Jahjaga about it in Brussels on Wednesday. Serbia's position on Kosovo defined, Nikolic says Nikolic told Tanjug his meeting with Jahjaga could not be a protocol meeting, although it had been planned as such originally. "This is an opportunity for Mrs. Jahjaga to hear something she perhaps does not like to hear, to finally hear directly, and not through the media, that Serbia has its own resolution, which it adopted based on the platform, and that no one who represents Serbia can stray from it and no one who represents Serbia wishes to stray from it," Nikolic stated. “The resolution on the talks with the provisional institutions of the local government in Kosovo is Serbia's first expression of what it can allow,” he remarked. "Serbia is saying for the first time what it can allow, and it has allowed for a territory where it does not exercise its full power, for the territory to have its constitution, laws, courts, president, government, parliament, and it seeks certain special rights for its community in that territory, which are very autonomous in relation to Pristina. And that is what Serbia can, what Serbia wants," Nikolic pointed out. The Serbian president will meet Jahjaga on Wednesday in Brussels. The meeting will be facilitated by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton. Tomislav Nikolic (Tanjug, file) Tanjug
