KRAGUJEVAC Political and cultural cooperation between Serbia and Brazil and their friendly ties are on an excellent level, but their business cooperation is weak. This was heard from Brazilian Ambassador in Serbia Alexandre Addor, who on Friday visited Kragujevac in central Serbia. Brazilian ambassador hopes for stronger business ties Addor noted that the value of business cooperation between Serbia and Brazil totals around USD 120 million on the annual level, while the total value of Brazil's foreign exchange adds up to USD 480 billion. He said that he decided to visit Kragujevac because the city nurtures a good industrial tradition, has qualified work force and competent individuals and its industrial development is going well, adding that there is room for cooperation in agriculture on the national level. Pointing out that Brazil is becoming an important world economic force, Addor stated that in addition to primary products such as ore, oil and agricultural products, his country is also a major producer of aircraft and other industrial goods. He expressed the belief that Brazil and Serbia can cooperate in joint production, trade and almost all economic sectors. Addor promised that he will help organise a visit of Serbian businessmen to Brazil. Representatives of companies interested in cooperation with Brazilian businessmen presented their firms' potentials to the Brazilian ambassador, including the programmes of Gomma Line, Rap Zastava and Zastava Inpro from Kragujevac, Grah Automotive from Batocina, Prva Petoletka and Namenska Industrija (defense industry) from Trstenik, as well as Termooprema from Belgrade. The ambassador met with Kragujevac Mayor Veroljub Stevanovic and also visited private company Vulovic Transport. -- Tanjug
