New Anti-Corruption Agency director appointed

The Board of the Anti-Corruption Agency has unanimously elected former acting director, Tatjana Babić, as the regulatory body's chief.

The decision was published on the agency's website on Monday.

The shortlist included three candidates with the necessary professional qualities, and the Board unanimously chose Babic, "who has showed high professionalism, autonomy and personal integrity through her work."

"Due to the fact that Tatjana Babić has particular experience and good knowledge of the internal organization and problems facing the agency, her election to the post of director will provide rapid achievement of agency's goals and objectives," it was announced.

The previous head of the regulatory body, Zorana Marković, was sacked last November after she was accused of "actions that were harmful to the reputation" of the institution.
