ANKARA The Turkish police arrested 85 people on Friday in raids in several cities, on suspicion that they had ties to a secret organization of the extreme left. Among those arrested in Ankara, Izmir and Istanbul are some 15 lawyers from an office known for defending the far-left activists, the NTV television outlet reported. The party has claimed responsibility for a suicide attack in Istanbul on September 11 last year when a police officer died.
