Serbian PM "ready for meeting" with Croatian counterpart

Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dačić has said that he was ready to meet with his Croatian counterpart Zoran Milanović.

The premier noted that he was "aware that relations between Serbia and Croatia have chilled in recent months".

"Good relations with countries in the region are in our interest and we will strive to promote cooperation," Dačić told the Belgrade daily Večernje Novosti.

His comments came after Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusić said the two prime ministers could meet in the near future.

The Serbian prime minister said Serbia and Croatia must not allow their relations to "enter an even colder phase."

"A thawing of relations would cap off the atmosphere of good regional cooperation. We disagreed about a lot of things and the past is very traumatic, but we need to look for the points that will draw us forward," said Dačić.
