B92's Veran Matić receives SAM "Manager of Year" award

The Serbian Association of Managers (SAM) has declared B92 Editor-in-Chief Veran Matić the winner of its Manager of Year award.

BELGRADE The Serbian Association of Managers (SAM) has declared B92 Editor-in-Chief Veran Matic the winner of its Manager of Year award. Matic, who also heads the B92 Fund, was, among other things, recognized for his decisive contribution to socially responsible activities through the Battle for the Babies humanitarian campaign. B92's Veran Matic receives SAM "Manager of Year" award Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) was awarded as Best Employer in the country. PM Ivica Dacic took part in the ceremony to tell managers that the Serbian government was "not against them", and that the task they should work on together was "good business in order to conduct a policy that can contribute to the county's development and progress". Accepting the award, Matic stated that it was important for both managers and journalists that rules of the trade were being respected, and that depending on the needs, social responsibility should be built into their work. NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko, who received his award from Dacic, stated that it was one of the greatest recognitions received by the company, and added that their goal was "to be the best employer in the Balkans." The SAM awards included two more categories: best young manager and best institution for education of managers. The first was won by Jaffa Marketing Director Aleksandar Poznanic, while the second went to the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. A special award for his contribution to the youth was presented to Mathematical Grammar School Director Srdjan Ognjanovic. Second and third place in the Best Manager category went to SAGA Executive Director Vladan Zivanovic and Represetn System's Borislav Miljanovic, while NIS was followed by Telenor and Erste Bank in the Best Employer category. SAM President Bojan Radun addressed the ceremony to say that the association was now enjoying a significantly better position in society and that the awards to managers were a recognition of their work, urging them to continue with their good work in the future.
