Newly elected Slovenian President Borut Pahor has officially taken over office from his predecessor Danilo Turk.

LJUBLJANA Newly elected Slovenian President Borut Pahor has officially taken over office from his predecessor Danilo Turk. After he took the oath of office on Saturday night, Pahor addressed MPs in the Slovenian parliament and called for unity in the country in order to overcome the crisis. Newly elected Slovenian president sworn in He stressed that the situation in the country was difficult but that it could still be improved. “We are still in a position in which the future depends on our will. Four years of crisis have exhausted us and we are going through some though times so it is understandable that our people have less and less patience. The socially weakest only have their dignity left and some feel like they have lost even that,” Pahor underscored. Pahor is the fourth Slovenian president since the country became independent in 1991.
