BELGRADE The Special Court has rejected an appeal against the detention of the owners of Delta Holding and Nibens Group Miroslav Miskovic and Milo Djuraskovic. Miskovic's son Marko will also remain in prison. Delta owner's appeal rejected by court Court spokeswoman Maja Kovacevic said that four more detained suspects also appealed unsuccessfully, and that the council in this way confirmed the decision of a judge to place them all in custody for 30 days. Miroslav Miskovic, his son Marko, Milo Djuraskovic and seven others were arrested on December 12 on suspicion of abuse of office and siphoning off money of road maintenance companies. The prosecution believes that they made illegal gains of some EUR 30 million in this manner. According to the criminal complaint, between 2005 and 2010 they - in their role as co-owners of the privatized road company Nis - and through this firm as co-owners of others, including Belgrade, Kragujevac, Vranje, Sremput, Backaput and others - illegally extracted and appropriated money and assets. This joint enterprise commenced in 2005 when the EUR 23mn acquisition of PZP Beograd was financed by one of Miskovic's companies. RTS Tanjug
