ZVECAN Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija head Aleksandar Vulin on Tuesday started his two-day visit to the province. However, he noted that the trip was unrelated to an "ultimatum" issued on Monday by the local Serb business community in the north. Kosovo office chief's trip "unrelated to ultimatum" They gave the authorities 72 hours to explain "what was happening with the agreement on integrated management of the crossings", and stated that the deal was being violated as the Kosovo Albanian government in Pristina and the EU mission, EULEX, were forcing them to pay customs fees for the goods shipped to northern Kosovo. "I came here as a representative of the Republic of Serbia, to see what the government and us should do," Vulin said, and used the opportunity to congratulate St. Nicholas Day to all who celebrate it as their family patron saint day. Unlike on previous occasions, Vulin did not experience any problems as he crossed the administrative line at Jarinje on Tuesday. He told Zvecan-based TV Most that "the point was not whether he had any problems while entering the province", but rather that "no citizen in northern Kosovo and Metohija should have any problems regarding goods, personal documents, licence plated, as had been agreed in Brussels". "I came to see what was happening and what the situation was like both south and north of the Ibar, to see which issues were open, and how to solve them," Vulin stated, and added that "while the talks are being conducted in Brussels, that's no reason for life to come to a halt here, and for those agreements that have already been reached to be violated". PM Ivica Dacic on Tuesday warned that he could withdraw from the negotiations with Hashim Thaci and Catherine Ashton in case of continued violation of the IBM agreement.
