BELGRADE Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic said Friday that the country's budget deficit at the end of the year would be lower than projected in the budget revision. According to the Ministry of Finance and Economy, over the 11 months of this year, the budget deficit amounted to RSD 161.4 billion, while the revision projected a deficit of RSD 203.6 billion, Dinkic said, adding that December's deficit "would certainly not reach the sum of RSD 40 billion". Minister: Budget deficit to be lower than anticipated Dinkic said that no additional funds had been allocated for Vojvodina other than what was provided for the province in the budget for 2013, adopted at the beginning of December. Under the document, the Republic of Serbia allocated RSD 12 billion for capital investment in Vojvodina, or more precisely, for the construction of a road between Novi Sad and Ruma going through Mt. Fruska Gora. Dinkic said that the Serbian parliament would adopt a set of economic bills on Saturday, including a bill on conditional write-off of interest and tax debt dormancy. With the entry into force of the bill, those servicing their current liabilities in time will have their accounts, blocked over unpaid taxes as at October 31 this year, unblocked immediately, said Dinkic. “Whoever meets their payment obligations for November and December will be eligible for a grace period on tax debt payments and will qualify for a possible write-off of all arrears interest, if they become normal tax payers,” said the Serbian finance minister.
