A new ultrasound machine has been delivered to Šabac General Hospital, a donation of Elixir Group to B92 Fund’s campaign Battle for Maternity Wards.

SABAC A new ultrasound machine has been delivered to Sabac General Hospital, a donation of Elixir Group to B92 Fund’s campaign Battle for Maternity Wards. Thanks to the donation, children will no longer have to go to Belgrade to have heart and brain ultrasounds. New equipment donated to western town’s hospital Sub-specialized clinics have been opened in the hospital where pulmonary, cardiology, neonatology and neurological exams on the youngest patients will be performed. “This is a very valuable donation for our ward. It is a very expensive but very valuable machine for children’s disease diagnostics,” said Pediatric Ward Chief Dr Danica Vasic Susic. Elixir Group has participated in similar campaigns before. “This is just another action of Elixir Group led by my son whom I raised while working in this hospital. This is just another proof that we are socially responsible because investments in human life are priceless,” Elixir Group’s Ruzica Popovic said. The Sabac General Hospital needs more new equipment and B92 Fund will continue to raise money for the necessary machines. “The maternity ward needs another reanimation table, a cardio-respiratory monitor, pulse oximeters, a phototherapy lamp, a proctometer with humidifier and a biochemical analyzer. This is the equipment we will try to get in the next period and I call on all businessmen from these parts to join our campaign,” said B92 Fund's Board of Directors President Veran Matic. Health Ministry’s State Secretary Simo Vukovic also attended the opening of the sub-specialized clinics and delivery of the new equipment. “I have to express my great respect and great gratitude on behalf of the Ministry to B92 Fund's Board of Directors President Veran Matic for his efforts to solve large and accumulated problems in our health system,” he stressed. Sabac General Hospital Director Dr Zora Nikolic thanked the donors and the B92 Fund for their contribution in the Battle for Maternity Wards campaign. “There is no quality health care without good experts and reliable equipment, that is our priority. Today’s visit of the state secretary and representatives of donors and friends of our hospital assure us that we have support in our responsible work and mission,” she pointed out.
