BELGRADE Serbia's foreign trade deficit stood at USD 6.26 billion in the first nine months of 2012, reflecting a year-on-year drop of 1.2 percent. The data was announced on Friday by the State Statistical Office. Serbia's foreign trade deficit USD 6.26 billion Serbia exported goods worth USD 9.29 billion, which is a year-on-year decrease of 5.6 percent; and it imported goods for USD 15.56 billion, which is a year-on-year drop of 3.9 percent. The import-export ratio amounts to 59.7 percent, and suffered a drop when compared to 60.8 percent in the same period of 2011. When it comes to export, Serbia's top trading partners were Germany, Italy, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania, and the Russian Federation. As regards import, Serbia's top trading partners were Germany, the Russian Federation, Italy, China and Hungary. Serbia had the most vibrant trade with the countries with which it had signed free trade agreements. The EU member states account for more than a half of the overall trade. Serbia's second most important partners are CEFTA member states, with which it has a surplus of USD 1.12 billion that is mainly the result of exports in agricultural products, iron and steel. The largest surplus in trade was achieved with the former Yugoslav republics - Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia. Serbia exported goods worth USD 9.29 billion, which is a year-on-year decrease of 5.6 percent; and it imported goods for USD 15.56 billion, which is a year-on-year drop of 3.9 percent.

The import-export ratio amounts to 59.7 percent, and suffered a drop when compared to 60.8 percent in the same period of 2011.
