Councilor's car set on fire in southern town
A car belonging to a member of the Vranje city council was set on fire and destroyed early on Sunday morning, Tanjug is reporting.

VRANJE A car belonging to a member of the Vranje city council was set on fire and destroyed early on Sunday morning, Tanjug is reporting. The local politician, Branimir Stojancic, is also the secretary of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) in that souther town. Councilor's car set on fire in southern town A police spokesman confirmed that the car - a Peugeot 206 - was set on fire at around 04:00 CET, and that an investigation was ongoing. Stojancic has served for two terms as member of the City Council for Social Policy, National Minorities, Ethnic Communities and NGOs, and has also held the role of the council's spokesman. When his party won in the last local elections, he was given appointed as SPS Vranje branch secretary. The public learned during a session of the city assembly held in September that Vranje saw 15 cases of arson in the past two years when cars, restaurants and residential buildings were targeted.
