Đukanović set to become Montenegro's PM again

Montenegrin President Filip Vujanović on Friday gave the mandate to form the country's next government to Milo Đukanović, the leader of the DPS party.

PODGORICA Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic on Friday gave the mandate to form the country's next government to Milo Djukanovic, the leader of the DPS party. The party had formed a coalition ahead of the October 14 elections, dubbed "European Montenegro", and this coalition, along with parties of ethnic minorities, now has a majority in parliament. Đukanović set to become Montenegro's PM again

Đukanović came to power in Montenegro 21 years ago, and has in the meantime served as prime minister for five terms, and once as president.

On two occasions - in 2006 and 2010 - he stepped down as prime minister, both time for two years, to afterwards return to power.
