BELGRADE Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has expressed his satisfaction with the work of the Serbian government during its first 100 days in office. The president noted that the cabinet of Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic "was working like a team". President satisfied with government's performance "It seems that the time from the constitution of the government has passed by quickly, perhaps because of the many problems the government faced upon its formation," Nikolic told Tanjug. Dacic and his minister took the oath and assumed office on July 27. Nikolic noted that the government assumed office at a time of general austerity and a complete standstill of business activities. “They formed the government to regulate relations which were brought to the boiling point because the most important thing to Serbia was how to earn money and not how to put Serbia in line with well-developed countries or how to ensure a better life for Serbian citizens,” the Serbian president stated. “In spite of the initial disorientation which subtly indicated that everybody wanted to present their party as the best partner in the government, they are working as a team now, and they should yet do a lot,” Nikolic said and added that he is always willing to help because his victory in the elections brought about the establishment of such a government, Nikolic said. This is why he feels responsible for the government, he said. “For now, I can still stand aside and watch their actions but if this should take a bad turn, I will find a way to help them,” the Serbian president said. Nikolic underscored that the teamwork of the government and the entire country's leadership is obvious in all areas, such as the Kosovo and Metohija issue. “They took on the responsibility for Kosovo and Metohija as a team too, which nobody expected them to do,” Nikolic said and added that activities carried out there will be carried out by everyone together.
