BELGRADE Serbian Agriculture Minister Goran Knezevic has said that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will implement the long-awaited reforms. “I will do my best to convey my political experience to my younger colleagues, as the oldest member of the SNS leadership and to build a party structure together with them that will be the best in the Serbian political scene for a long time,” he told daily Press. “Progressives will implement long-awaited reforms” “The SNS will implement reforms that citizens have been waiting for a long time, something that many call ‘October 6’. I consider it my personal mission and political task,” Knezevic was quoted as saying. When asked with whom he had the best cooperation in the government, he said that he had a good cooperation with everybody but that he had the “most intense cooperation” with First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic. The former Zrenjanin mayor and Democratic Party (DS) member was arrested in October 2008 on suspicion of organizing a criminal group. The Special Court for Organized Crime will deliver a final verdict on November 1. “I expect an acquittal. I sleep well at night because I know that I did not do anything against the law,” Knezevic said and added that he had been persecuted without any reason for the previous four years.
